Summary of Notice of Intention to Sell Land for Overdue Rates or Charges

On 16 May 2024 Western Downs Regional Council resolved to sell the land described below because overdue rates or charges

have remained unpaid. The owners listed in the following table are given notice of the intention to sell the following land for unpaid rates or charges.

This is a summary of a notice of intention to sell land issued pursuant to section 140 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.

Description of Land and Details of Overdue Rates, Charges & Interest

Pursuant to s. 133 Local Government Regulation 2012 - Interest has been calculated on overdue rates and charges from the day rates

and charges became overdue at the following rates:

(i) was calculated on a compounded basis per day;

(ii) was calculated at the following rates of interest (per annum) for the following periods:

(i) until 30 June 2019 at 11%

(ii) from 1 July 2019 at 9.83%

(iii) from 1 July 2020 at 8.53%

(iv) from 1 July 2021 at 8.03%

(v) from 1 July 2022 at 8.17%

(vi) from 1 July 2023 at 11.64%

From 1 July 2024, interest on overdue rates and charges will continue to accrue on overdue rates and charges at the interest rate calculated

as the sum of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s published March bank yield rate plus 8%.
