Town of Walkerville Audit Committee
The Town of Walkerville is committed to maintaining a strong and consistent legacy of financial management and investment.
Expressions of Interest are now sought from interested parties to fill a vacant Independent Member position on Council’s Audit Committee, commencing 1 August 2022 and concluding 1 December 2023.
The Audit Committee is an advisory committee to Council, established to assist in the effective conduct of Council’s responsibilities for good governance, the management of risk, financial reporting and maintenance of reliable systems and internal controls in order to facilitate the achievement of its organisational objectives. The committee consists of two Elected Members and three Independent Members.
Persons interested in applying should have prior board or relevant committee experience, an understanding of the Local Government sector and a business or commercial background in one or more of the following: accounting, audit, assurance, financial management, risk management or law.
The Committee typically meets five to six times per year, and as business needs arise. A sitting fee is paid to Independent Members. A copy of the Audit Committee Terms of Reference is available at https://www.walkerville.sa.gov.au.
