COUNCIL SEWERAGE SYSTEM AND
STORMWATER INFILTRATION
Toowoomba Regional Council is planning to carry out a systematic smoke testing
program of the Toowoomba Sewerage Network covering the following areas:
• Toowoomba • Highfields
• Meringandan • Crows Nest
This inspection program will commence on 15 May 2025 and will continue
until 2 August 2025. Council will advise the property owners via post of the
exact dates/locations of smoke testing.
The inspection process involves the pumping of a non-toxic white smoke into the
sewer and observe where smoke leaves the network. It is normal for this to be
visible from sewer vent pipes, however it should not enter homes or businesses.
