NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (Greycliffe House, Vaucluse NSW 2030) are preparing an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report (ACHAR) to enact the recommendations of an Aboriginal Place Management Plan for the registered Aboriginal Place, Dharawal Resting Place – Coast Hospital Cemetery (part Lot 50 DP1195251 and part Lot 5 DP1110408) within Kamay Botany Bay National Park at La Perouse. The ACHAR may be used in support of an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP) under s90 of the National Parks & Wildlife Act 1974. The purpose of community consultation with Aboriginal people is to assist the proposed applicant in the preparation of an AHIP application and to assist the Secretary of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment in their consideration and determination of the application if required.
We are inviting Aboriginal people who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal object(s) and/or place(s) in the area within the described location to register an interest in the project. If you would like to register your interest, please provide name of group/individual, nominated contact person and contact details. We are required to provide details of all Registered Aboriginal Parties to Heritage NSW and the Local Aboriginal Land Council, unless otherwise advised. Please advise us in writing in you do not wish your details to be released.
