PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AND INSTALL OPTUS MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION EQUIPMENT

  • Installation of ten equipment racks within the common telecom equipment room on level 8
  • Installation of a new rooftop GPS antenna
  • Installation of ancillary equipment and works, including AC power works necessary for the operation and proper functioning the facilities, or otherwise for the sole purpose of ensuring the protection and safety of the facility and persons or property near the facility
  • Any other activity necessary for the purposes of installing the facility

The installation will provide Optus 4G (LTE700, LTE1800, LTE2100, LTE2300, LTE2600) and 5G (NR900, NR2100, NR2300) network coverage within the station and parts of the surrounding tunnels. Optus regards the proposed installation as a low-impact facility in accordance with the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 (Amendment 1, 2021) based on the description above.

  1. The proposal will provide Optus 4G (LTE700, LTE1800, LTE2100, LTE2300, LTE2600) and 5G (NR900, NR2100, NR2300) network coverage to the station, its back-of-house areas and tunnel portals. Optus regards the proposed installation as a maintenance activity in accordance with the Telecommunications Act 1997 based on the description above.
  2. Notification for both proposals are being undertaken in accordance with Section 7 of Industry Code C564:2020 Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment.
  3. Members of the public may obtain further information on the proposals, and we invite you to provide written comments about the proposal.
