PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AN EXISTING TELSTRA

TELECOMMUNICATION FACILITY (MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION)

The upgrade comprises the removal of three (3) existing panel antennas and other equipment from the existing high-voltage tower and the installation of three (3) new panel antennas (each less than 2.8m in length).

New ancillary equipment such as remote radio units, filters, combiners, mounts, cables and conduits will also be installed, along with internal works within the existing Telstra equipment shelter.

The proposed upgrade will improve existing 4G services from the facility and introduce 5G services to the surrounding area.

Telstra regards the proposed upgrade works as ‘low-impact’ pursuant to the Telecommunications (Low-Impact Facilities) Determination 2018 based on the description above.
