Proposal to Upgrade An Existing Mobile Phone Base

PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AN EXISTING TELSTRA MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION AT:

1. GLOSSODIA: 10 JAMES STREET GLOSSODIA NSW 2756

The proposal involves:

  • the removal of two (2) existing omni-directional antennas
  • the removal of six (6) existing tower mounted amplifiers (TMAs)
  • the removal of the existing steelwork, equipment and cabling from the top of the structure
  • the installation of one (1) new antenna mount on the top of the structure
  • the installation of three (3) new panel antennas (each antenna measuring 810mm in length) on the new antenna mount at elevation 27.66m
  • the installation of three (3) new junction boxes on the new antenna mount, behind the new antennas at elevation 26.5m
  • the installation of six (6) new tower mounted amplifiers (TMAs) at elevation 24.6m, and 
  •  the installation of additional equipment with the existing equipment shelter  
  • ancillary works necessary for the effective and safe operation of the facility

2. The purpose of this installation is to provide enhanced 4G services and new 5G services to the Glossodia area. The proposal is defined as a Low Impact installation in accordance with the the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 Schedule - Facilities and areas Part 1 - Radio Facilities Item 4 and Part 3 - Low Impact Facilities Item 3.1(4)(a) based on the description above.

3. The proposed infrastructure will comply with the ACMA EME regulatory arrangements. An EME Report can be obtained from www.rfnsa.com.au/2756004.
