PROPOSAL TO RECONFIGURE THE EXISTING TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITY ON THE UTILITY POLE AT 2 - 4 NEW SOUTH HEAD ROAD, VAUCLUSE NSW 2030 (POLE 1) AND REPLACE AN EXISTING NOT IN SERVICE OPTUS EQUIPMENT ON THE UTILITY POLE OUTSIDE OF 6 NEW SOUTH HEAD ROAD, VAUCLUSE NSW 2030 (POLE 2) INCLUDING 5G


  1. The proposed facility consist of the addition of new Vodafone and Optus 5G equipment and associated works as follows:


  • The proposed scope of works on Pole 1 at 2 – 4 New South Head Road, Vaucluse:
    • Removal of the existing two antennas and associated ancillary items from existing utility pole.
    • Replacement of one (1) existing panel antenna (919mm L X 353mm W X 209mm D) and addition of three (3) new Mast Head Amplifiers (MHA) (420mm L X 355mm W X 150mm D) on the utility pole at the existing location - Pole 1).

  • The proposed scope of works on Pole 2 at 6 New South Head Road, Vaucluse NSW 2030:
    • Removal of the existing two antennas and associated ancillary items from existing utility pole.
    • Replacement of one (1) existing panel antenna (919mm L X 353mm W X 209mm D) and addition of three (3) new Mast Head Amplifiers (MHA) (420mm L X 355mm W X 150mm D) on the utility pole at the existing location - Pole 2).

  • Associated Ancillary Equipment:
    1. Replacement of existing outdoor units with new outdoor units that have improved acoustic dampening;
    2. Reconfiguration of existing internal equipment inside the cabinet and installation of new ancillary equipment.


2. Vodafone and Optus regard the proposed installation as low impact under The Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 based on the description above.
