NOTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION OF ABORIGINAL INTERESTS
Biosis Pty Ltd (Biosis) is undertaking an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment for a proposed Retirement Living Village at 1610 and 1614–1634 Pacific Highway (Lot 3 DP339734 and Lot 1 DP1256199) and 5 Munderah Street (Lot A DP410419), Wahroonga, NSW, within the Ku-Ring-Gai Local Government Area for United Protestant Association of NSW Ltd (Richard Abbott; PO Box 3051, North Turramurra NSW 2074; richard@rjaprojects.com.au). The project will be assessed as State Significant Development (SSD) under Part 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
In accordance with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010 (DECCW 2010), Biosis invites Aboriginal people who hold cultural knowledge in determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and/or places in the vicinity of the above area to register their interest in a process of community consultation.
The purpose of Aboriginal community consultation is to provide sufficient information for the assessment of Aboriginal cultural heritage values, and to assist the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in their consideration and determination of the SSD application.
