Notice of intention to make a water extraction licence decision
(Pursuant to section 71B of the Water Act 1992)
The Controller of Water Resources hereby gives notice that a decision is to be made regarding an application to increase the entitlement of water extraction licence TLAM04 under Section 60 of the Water Act 1992.
The source of extraction is the Tindall Limestone Aquifer (Mataranka), within the South Mataranka management zone of the Mataranka Water Allocation Plan 2024–2034. In accordance with the Plan, 24,492 ML/year is allocated for consumptive uses including licensed use, from South Mataranka management zone. The total quantity of water that may be taken from this water resource under existing groundwater extraction licences in South Mataranka is 20,805 ML/year. Annual reported extraction during 2023–2024 water year was 6752 ML.
