Notice of intention to make a water extraction licence decision
(Pursuant to section 71B of the Water Act 1992)
The Controller of Water Resources hereby gives notice that a decision is to be made regarding an application for a new water extraction licence under Section 45 of the Water Act 1992.
The application is for a 500 ML/year licence to replace the applicant’s current licence 815435 which has a volume of 1000 ML/year and expires 31 March 2024, resulting in a decrease of 500 ML/year extraction from the resource.

The proposed source of extraction is Berry Creek, within the Finniss River Basin, within the Berry Springs Water Allocation Plan 2016-2026 (Plan) area. The total quantity of water that may be taken from this water resource under existing surface water extraction licences, and the quantity accounted for in the Plan, is 1000 ML/year. Annual reported extraction during 2022-2023 water year was 65.53 ML.
