KATHERINE TOWN COUNCIL
Review of Constitutional Arrangements
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23 of the Local Government Act 2008, the Katherine Town Council is undertaking a review to assess the adequacy of the constitutional arrangements presently in place and, in particular, whether they provide the most effective possible representation for the council area. The review must be completed by the 31st August 2020 in order to have any proposed amendments put into effect before the 2021 Local Government elections.
Notice is hereby given that Council has prepared a detailed Consultation Paper which presents the preferred future composition and structure of Council, as well as information pertaining to all issues relevant to the review and elector representation in general. Copies of Consultation Paper are available for inspection on the Katherine Town Council website (http://www.katherine.nt.gov.au) and hard copies can be prearranged via phone 8972 ... .
Interested persons are invited to make a written submission to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 1071, Katherine NT 0850, by close of business on Sunday 17th May 2020. Any submissions should specifically address the following issues.
