BBAC, Anglo Coal (Moranbah North Management) Limited ABN 14 069 603 587 (Anglo) and Queensland Electricity Transmission Corporation Limited t/as Powerlink Queensland ABN 82 078 849 233 (Powerlink) propose to enter into the Transmission Line Relocation Native Title Agreement.

WHAT IS THE AGREEMENT ABOUT?

  • Anglo owns the Moranbah North and Grosvenor Mines.
  • Powerlink owns and operates a powerline that runs through the Moranbah North and Grosvenor Mines.
  • At the request of Anglo, Powerlink undertook relocation and realignment of the powerlines within the Moranbah North and Grosvenor Mines (the Project).
  • The Barada Barna People's native title rights and interests were impacted by Project Approvals and Activities.
  • A notice under section 24KA of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NT Act) was issued for the project by Powerlink to BBAC in 2023. The Agreement confirms, among other things, the parties’ compliance with procedures required under the relevant legislation in respect of the Project Approvals and Project Activities.
