The Department of Education is proposing the delivery of new infrastructure at the above address, which will include the following:
Construction of a new two-storey learning centre that includes:
• Four (4) general learning areas (GLAs) and associated spaces
• One (1) Music GLA space
• Undercroft area to accommodate two (2) future GLA spaces when required
To establish the new learning centre with music specialist space, the works will also involve:
• Removal of existing relocatable buildings
• Refurbishment of F Block to provide a Flexible Learning Area space
• Establishment of new covered area and walkways to connect the new building to existing buildings
• Removal of four (4) car parking spaces to enable the building pad for the new learning centre
• Construction of an additional six (6) car parking spaces for staff in the car park accessible via Macfarlane Street
• Construction of an additional nine (9) car parking spaces in the car park accessible from Sumner Road
• Alterations to existing landscaping to accommodate the building pad and establishment of additional landscaping around the new building.
The project will increase the school student enrolment capacity by an additional 72 students, to 711 students.
