City of Darwin is proposing to close a section of road reserve adjacent to Lot 1760 (14 McLachlan Street) and 2195 (83 Smith Street), Darwin, following requests from the adjacent property owners to purchase the land.
The road reserve area for these lots do not align with the road reserve area for other lots in the area and is currently not used as a road.
The purpose of the road closure is to facilitate the consolidation of the closed portion of road with Lots 1760 and 2195.
Should the Minister approve the sale of the road reserve, it will be offered for sale to the adjacent property owners based on the current market value of the land.
In accordance with regulation 64 of the Local Government (General) Regulations 2021, any person who wishes to object to the closure is asked to write to City of Darwin by 4:15pm Friday 27 June 2025.
