The Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Brisbane 2032) is partnering with Odgers Berndtson in the global search for its General Counsel.
Key Duties: Working closely with the President, Chief Executive Officer and Board to deliver the Brisbane 2032 strategy, the General Counsel will have overall responsibility for leading the provision of legal services as well as accountability for ensuring all contractual, legislative and statutory obligations are complied with, brand protection, ensuring proper rights clearances and compliance, supporting the negotiation of commercial agreements, as well as company secretariat services.
Skills/Abilities: The General Counsel will be a proactive, high-energy self-starter with a strong degree of executive presence and a core focus on deliverables. The ideal candidate will have deep commercial experience in sports law, working for a multifaceted sporting organisation or organising committee. Expertise in commercial funding, event management and intellectual property protection will ensure success in this role.
