Derwent Valley Council is seeking an Expression of Interest appointment to the Council’s Audit Panel as an independent member(s).
The primary objective of the Audit Panel is to assist the Council in providing a transparent and independent process for its financial management and to ensure accountability to the community in governance, management, and allocation of resources.
Applicants must have an understanding of the principles of good organisational governance; internal and external audit operations; and risk management principles.
Management experience and functional knowledge in the areas of performance management; human resource management; management control frameworks; financial internal controls; governance and oversight of business operations is essential.
Applicants must be able to form independent judgements and be willing to respectfully and constructively question management practices and information.
Expressions of interest must provide details of the applicant’s experience, skills, knowledge and qualifications to enable them to undertake the role.
