PROPOSAL TO UPGRADE AN EXISTING TELSTRA MOBILE PHONE BASE STATION AT:


1.NORMANTON EXCHANGE: 25 BROWN ST NORMANTON QLD 4890


The proposal involves:


•the removal of four (4) existing omni-directional antennas

•the removal of two (2) existing tower mounted amplifiers (TMAs)

•the installation of one (1) new extension (measuring 5m in length) to the existing lattice tower

•the installation of new face mounts on the new extension

•the re-location of one (1) existing omni-directional antenna to the new extension

•the installation of six (6) new panel antennas (each antenna measuring 2438mm in length) at elevation 48.5m

•the installation of nine (9) new remote radio units (RRUs)

•the installation of three (3) new junction boxes on the new extension and existing lattice tower, and

•the upgrading of equipment within the existing equipment shelter

•ancillary works necessary for the effective and safe operation of the facility


2.The purpose of this installation is to provide enhanced 4G services and new 5G services to the Normanton area. Telstra regards the proposed installation as a Low Impact installation in accordance with the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 Part 3 - Low Impact Facilities Item 3.1(4)(a) and Schedule - Facilities and areas Part 1 - Radio Facilities Items 4 & 12, based on the description above.


3.The proposed infrastructure will comply with the ACMA EME regulatory arrangements. An EME Report can be obtained from https://www.rfnsa.com.au/4890002.


4.In accordance with Section 7 of the Industry Code, C564:2020 Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment, you are invited to provide feedback about the proposal.
