NORTHERN TERRITORY RACING APPEALS TRIBUNAL EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Membership of the Racing Appeals Tribunal
Expressions of Interest are invited from qualified individuals for the positions of Chair,
Deputy Chair or Member of the Racing Appeals Tribunal (the Tribunal).
The Tribunal, established under the Racing and Wagering Act 2024 (Act), hears appeals
from parties aggrieved by decisions made by stewards or race clubs in the Northern
Territory.
Appointments are made by the Minister for Racing for terms of up to 3 years. Tribunal
members receive sitting fees in accordance with the Assembly Members and Statutory
Officers (Remuneration and Other Entitlements) Act 2006.
Applicants for Chair and Deputy Chair must be a Supreme Court Judge, a Local Court
Judge or legal practitioner.

Pursuant to Section 94 of the Act, applicants are required to satisfy the eligibility criteria
for holding an office of the Tribunal and may be subject to satisfactory criminal history
check.
