Invitation to Register an Interest
Artefact Heritage and Environment has been engaged by Willowtree Planning (the proponent) to prepare an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report (ACHAR) for the property at Lot 100, Beech Street, Casula (the study area) in advance of proposed development. The proponent is proposing to demolish the existing warehouse, and construct a two storey warehouse in its place.
The study area is in the City of Liverpool Local Government Area (LGA) and within the boundaries of the Tharawal Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC).
The project is a declared State Significant Development (SSD) under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (SSD- 6438... ).
An ACHAR is required fulfill Requirement 18 the Secretary's Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs). The purpose of community consultation is to assist the proponent in identifying and describing the Aboriginal cultural heritage values within the proposal area and aid in the documentation of these values in the environmental assessment.

We are inviting registrations of interest in the project from Aboriginal groups and individuals who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and/or places in the locality of the project. Please note that the consultation guidelines require us to provide details of the Registered Aboriginal Parties to Heritage NSW (formerly Office of Environment and Heritage) and the Tharawal LALC. In your response could you please advise if you would rather that your details are not provided.
