AROWS AIRBORNE

ELECTROMAGNETIC SURVEY 13 TO 31 MAY 2024

As a part of the Adelaide River Off-Stream Water Storage (AROWS) Project, the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) is undertaking Airborne Electromagnetic (AEM) surveying.

AEM survey is a non-invasive form of survey that measure natural variations in the electrical properties of soil, rocks and water.

The proposed- AROWS project looks to utilise a naturally occurring basin made up of a ridge formation to store water. The information collected in the AEM survey will help streamline future ground investigations and provide a thorough understanding of the land within and surrounding the AROWS site.

AEM data will be collected by transmitting an electromagnetic signal over the AROWS site and surrounding areas from a sensor attached to a helicopter. The AEM survey will not involve sound recording, aerial photography or aerial videography.

The electromagnetic signal is safe for people, livestock, water quality, animals and plants.
