GLENORCHY CITY COUNCIL
PLANNING SCHEME AMENDMENT PLS43A-21/02

Notice is given that the Glenorchy Planning Authority has certified draft amendment PLS43A-21/02 to the Glenorchy Local Provisions Schedule and granted a planning permit. The draft amendment and permit may be inspected during normal office hours at the Council offices, 374 Main Road, Glenorchy or on Council’s website at https://www.gcc.tas.gov.au from Monday 25 July 2022 until Monday 22 August 2022.

What land is affected by the amendment?
Part of 32 Cheviot Road, West Moonah.

What does the draft amendment seek to do?
The amendment seeks to rezone part of 32 Cheviot Road, West Moonah to a General Residential Zone.

What is the reason for the amendment?
The southern part of the Hilliard Christian School at 32 Cheviot Road, West Moonah has been considered surplus to the use of the school and not suitable for uses in a Community Purpose Zone. The amendment seeks to include serviced urban land in a zone that allows for more housing opportunities.

What planning permit has been granted?
A planning permit has been granted for a 19 lot subdivision, plus balance, at 32 Cheviot Road, West Moonah. The permit also impacts accessways on land at 3 and 5 Ransley Court West Moonah.

How can I be involved?
In accordance with Section 40J of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993, any person may make a representation about the draft amendment during the above period by letter addressed to the General Manager, Glenorchy City Council, P.O. Box 103, Glenorchy, 7010 or by email to gccmail@gcc.tas.gov.au

It is important, if you wish to have your say, either in favour or against the draft amendment or planning permit that you put your comments in writing to Council. Otherwise, you will not have formal status in any future processes involving the final decision-making body for the draft amendment, the Tasmanian Planning Commission.
