Invitation to lodge a Pipeline Licence Variation application under the NSW pipelines Act 1967 to include additional lands
Jemena is an energy infrastructure company that builds, owns and operates a combination of major gas and electricity assets across Australia. Jemena proposes to construct a new high pressure natural gas transmission pipeline near Kembla Grange, NSW to duplicate the existing Port Kembla Lateral pipeline. The new Port Kembla Lateral Looping pipeline would connect the existing Eastern Gas Pipeline to the proposed Port Kembla Gas Terminal, a separate project to be developed by Australian Industrial Energy (AIE). The proposed location of the pipeline is from Springhill road, Spring Hill to Wyllie Road, Kembla Grange. The new pipeline and upgrade works will enable a significant increase of flows into the Eastern Gas Pipeline and will strengthen the security of gas supply for New South Wales and the east coast gas market.
The proposal includes the construction of:
a pipeline approximately eight kilometres in length; and
a tie-in facility.
The Eastern Gas Pipeline is operated in accordance with Pipeline Licence No. 26 issued under the NSW Pipelines Act 1967. Jemena proposes to lodge an application under the section 18 of the Pipelines Act 1967 to vary Pipeline Licence No.26 to include additional Lands required for the proposal.
