Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010
Corio Projects are proposing the construction of a new residential aged care facility at 2 – 32 Junction Street, Forest Lodge. The existing brick building will not be demolished. A Due Diligence Assessment prepared in 2024 determined that it is highly unlikely that Aboriginal objects remain within the study area. The project is a State Significant Development (SSD) and therefore an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report (ACHAR) will be required for the proposed works. The Applicant engaged Unearthed Archaeology & Heritage to undertake consultation in accordance with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010 and preparation of an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report (ACHAR) to ensure that relevant Aboriginal parties are consulted with and to satisfy a condition of the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
If you possess cultural knowledge that will add to the story of the Aboriginal history of the Forest Lodge area and would like to register an interest, please provide your name and contact details to:
