Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements for Proponents 2010
Fairfield City Council propose the development of a new entertainment facility within the Fairfield Showground Precinct, 443 Smithfield Road, Prairiewood 2176. An Aboriginal Due Diligence Assessment of the study area was undertaken by Mary Dallas Consulting Archaeologists in 2018 to inform the Master Plan for the design. That assessment determined that the proposed works would not impact on any Aboriginal objects. However, the project is being assessed as a State Significant Development Application (SSDA) and therefore Aboriginal community consultation in accordance with the Aboriginal cultural heritage consultation requirements for proponents 2010 and the preparation of an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report (ACHAR) is a condition of the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
