HOUSING AUSTRALIA FUTURE FUND – BH2NJ AT 40-64 YORKTOWN PARADE AND 195-213 FITZGERALD AVENUE, MAROUBRA - ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ASSESSMENT INVITATION TO REGISTER AN INTEREST

Artefact Heritage and Environment, on behalf of Homes NSW (the proponent), is undertaking an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment (ACHAR) of the property known as 40-64 Yorktown Parade and 195-213 Fitzgerald Avenue, Maroubra. The proposal is a State Significant Development (SSD 7145... ) involving construction of 144 new social and affordable residential dwellings, and associated carparking, services and landscaping. The Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were issued on 6 June 2024 for the project. Artefact has been engaged to prepare an ACHAR in accordance with requirement 18 of the SEARs. The ACHAR will support an Environmental Impact Statement for the project.

The study area is located within the Randwick Local Government Area and the boundaries of the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC).


We are inviting registrations of interest in the project from Aboriginal groups and individuals who hold cultural knowledge relevant to determining the significance of Aboriginal objects and/or places in the locality of the project. Please note that the consultation guidelines require us to provide details of Registered Aboriginal Parties to Heritage NSW (formerly Office of Environment and Heritage) and the La Perouse LALC. In your response could you please advise if you would not like your details to be provided.
