The Lockyer Valley and Somerset Water Collaborative (LVSWC) is a powerful coalition of leaders that are committed to securing a sustainable future for the Lockyer Valley and Somerset regions and that has an important role in the food security of the State and the Nation. Over time significant studies have been undertaken as users have sought to improve the efficiency of water use and water security. This has related to water for farming, business, industry and tourism.
The exciting next phase of the Detailed Business Case is the Lockyer Valley & Somerset Water Security Scheme Optimisation Report (OAR), which is intended to further investigate and detail options for making more water available for irrigation and other high value uses.
The collaborative is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to undertake the role of Chairperson.
The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated ability to bring people together, build consensus, and importantly harness this collaboration and focus to secure the commitment of government and relevant stakeholders, bringing the aspirations of the Collaborative to fruition.
