Administration Officer – Legal Unit (Cairns)
Full-time fixed term contract commencing
August 2022 to December 2023
North Queensland Land Council (NQLC) is a Native Title Representative Body appointed under the Native Title Act 1993. The NQLC is seeking the services of an experienced Administration Officer to support the Legal Unit’s native title claim lawyers, based in our Cairns office. This position is a fixed-term contract covering a maternity leave position until December 2023.
The successful applicant should be experienced in legal administration procedures and be willing to work in a dynamic team environment. Experience with native title is desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be achievement orientated, have strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and an ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a sensitivity and understanding of current Indigenous issues and aspirations and be able to effectively communicate with Indigenous Australians.
