1st NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR SUBSTITUTION OF LIQUOR LICENCE

 

Woolworths Group Limited, hereby gives notice they have applied to the Director of Liquor Licensing for the substitution of their Liquor Licence number 8091...   TAKEAWAY AUTHORITY” at premises currently located at shop 1/47 Cavenagh Street, Darwin, NT.

 

Proposed substitution of liquor licence

  • It is proposed that the liquor licence and associated business, currently known as BWS –Beer, Wine & Spirits be substituted (moved) to different premises and to be relocated to shops 4 and 5/47 Cavenagh Street, Darwin.
  • There is no application to change any of the current liquor licence conditions. This licence allows for the sale of takeaway liquor only.
  • BDR requirements will apply at the new premises for the sale of any liquor
  • There is no significant change in the operation of the business
  • The proposed new premises are less than 3 square metres larger. 

This is the first notice of application. The notice will be published again on 18 January 2020.

 

The objection period is deemed to commence from 18 January 2020 for a period of 14 days after the publication of this last notice of the application, that being until close of business 1 February 2020.

 

Pursuant to Section 61(2) of the Liquor Act 2019 an objection may only be made on the ground that the application would adversely affect:

  • the amenity of the neighbourhood of the licensed premises or proposed licensed premises; or
  • the health, education, public safety or social conditions in the community of the licensed premises or proposed licensed premises; or
  • that the applicant is not a fit and proper person

 

Only those persons, organisations or groups described in Section 61(4) of the Liquor Act 2019 may make an objection.  Section 62 of the Liquor Act 2019 requires the Director of Liquor Licensing to inform the applicant of the substance of any objection.  This will include the identity and where relevant the address of the objector.
