About The Barossa Co-op
The Community Co-operative Store (Nuriootpa) Ltd was formed in 1944 as a general store owned by, and operated on behalf of, its members.
Today the business comprises nine retail businesses serving the needs of more than 23,000 members in the Barossa Valley. Sales turnover is more than $60m and The Barossa Co-op, as it is called, employs more than 300 people. Our supermarket relocated in late 2017 into a state-ofthe-art facility. We are now working to improve our customer service delivery across the store. In an evolution of our current operations, we are recruiting three new management positions. The successful candidates will make significant contributions to our goal of being the best supermarket in the country.
About each role
Reporting to the Supermarket Business Leader, these Managers will provide a clear focus on the delivery of exceptional customer services in each operational area of the store. This success will be achieved through the support and leadership provided to the store teams. Inventory management will be a key focus. Strong, long term supplier relationships are a necessity. We want to excite our customers, to take them on a journey of discovery of new things whilst ensuring all their favourites are consistently available. This evolution acknowledges the distinctive management needs of the different segments of our business.
Fresh Food Manager
The Fresh Food offers in our supermarket are pivotal to its success. This is particularly the case here in the
Barossa Valley, where our local producers are famous for the quality of their products. Our offer includes an instore bakery, deli, cheese room, meat servery with five butchers, seafood, poultry and fresh produce. Good food
is about flavour and freshness. Celebrating seasonality.
Skills and experience
We are looking for significant management experience in
the Fresh Food space within a supermarket or produce
market including at least three of the departments
mentioned above. If you have a passion for great food,
are an engaging leader and can demonstrate a
successful track record in fresh foods.
