Public notice Sydney Airport will be undertaking essential safety and routine maintenance work on the main north-south runway until 31 December 2019.
The work will be carried out over a maximum of 60 nights and will occur between 11pm and 6am. The work will result in the partial closure of the runway between these times.
To maintain safe operations, smaller aircraft that are permitted to take off from the runway to the south over Botany Bay during these times will be required to commence their take-off roll at the northern end of the runway.
There is no change to flight paths or take-off and landing direction (which will continue to be over Botany Bay).
